Hi Allison,

I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed this term in your CS 115 class! I'm very new to computer science in general, but I'm very excited to learn more and am considering trying to transfer into that major at UW. Your class this quarter has been really empowering for me as a new student, and has made me feel much more confident in my ability to learn more and be a successful CS student. I wanted to let you know that your teaching style and constant support has made a huge difference for me--I went into 115 expecting to struggle to understand every lesson, but your explanations of the very basics in a non judgemental and encouraging way helped me feel more comfortable with the knowledge I lacked and the mistakes I made. Additionally, I've really appreciated all of the time you've put into helping with questions via Piazza, Zoom, and email. I know it's not necessarily included in your teaching hours, but it made a big difference to be able to ask questions or come to you with problems and know that you would be willing to help. I hope you have a relaxing break, and I'll see you next quarter in Java I!

Best
